misleading description and poor quality Jan 19, 2010
I purchased this ring in a huge hurry for the same price still listed here on Amazon after I received a last minute holiday sale offer email directly from the seller. I'd been considering buying another much pricier ring that I'd spotted on their website several months ago, so I ordered this one to check out the quality of their merchandise. I really wanted that other ring, but there is no way I would consider buying it now.
First, the sizing of the ring that I received is off...it's a little smaller than the size ordered (confirmed on a ring mandrel). Secondly, it is described as being comfort fit, but it is not. The band should be convex on the inside, which prevents water from being trapped underneath it; however, the inside of this ring is completely flat. Also, it has a line cut all the way around it (or the metal was folded in when it was made, hard to know which), and there is the scratchy seller's logo incised over that...very uncomfortable to wear. Additionally, the description states the ring is 6mm wide but it is actually just over 7mm, it has unpleasantly sharp stainless edges, and the black on the titanium is already showing a lot of wear.
I didn't realize any of this when I took it out of the package, and the fit could not be judged accurately without first cutting off the seller's plastic tag hanger so it could be properly tried on. It is clearly stated that if the tag is removed, the ring can't be returned...so, even if it hadn't been a clearance item, I would not have been allowed to send it back.
